Hey Tumblr, my family has been friends with Jade’s family for years. She, her brother and two sisters are from England, so she’s not eligible for Bright Future, many scholarships or grants. She’s been paying completely out of pocket to attend community college while volunteering at a school and wants to go to a university to advance her education. She loves teaching and wants to be a school teacher, and this scholarship will help her pay for the classes she needs to make her dream come true.

I know it can be annoying when your parents want you to do something. Like call them more often, or answer their texts or to hang out at home. Maybe they ask you to visit your grandparents, but you already have something “better” planned so you blow them off. It doesn’t seem like a big deal. Your family will always be there, but this amazing party, or concert, or fair, or date night wont.

But that isn’t true. One day, they won’t be there anymore. It might be unexpected. By deciding to go out instead of seeing your family that one time, or forgetting to call, you may have in turn given up your last chance to say goodbye. Your last chance to talk to them and let them know you appreciate and love them.

So don’t take advantage of your time with them, because one day you might end up sitting at your computer regretting how you wasted it on something you can’t even remember anymore.

I know I’ve been neglecting you lately, I have just recently set myself many goals to pursue. I’m exercising almost every day to get in shape to run a full 5k for charity, I’ve researched many summer internships and applied to most, I’m striving for straight A’s and I’ve applied for a new job…

Which I got! Say hello to the new Bulls Radio News Coordinator! I’m very excited for the position. I will also be hosting a weekly show focused on videogames for the station.

I’ll post the link when it’s all set up for sure, probably next Friday.

I’ll start posting more!

One cup of potato has about 100 calories more than one cup of turnips, which can easily be substituted for almost all potato based foods!

1 cup of turnips has only 33 calories!

I’ve made mashed turnips, turnip hash-browns and glazed turnips, all using methods for potatoes, and they are AWESOME.

Don’t like turnips that much? Do a half and half mixture of potatoes and turnips and you’ll still be saving calories. I personally love the taste of turnips.

Yeah it is. They haven’t posted summer positions yet though, I just saw the spring ones so I’m hoping they actually have summer internships!
